School kills creativity among student

Tomorrow is the first day of school session for 2012..have a nice day to all students and teachers, hopefully in this new year, the spirit of teaching and learning will be burning like a volcano...
today, my nephew said to his mother "i felt so lazy to go to school tomorrow"
hmmmm....so cute for the boy at an age of 9 years old...
then i am thinking, why my nephew doesn't wanna go to school, whereas he really excited to go to school when he was in standard 1?
for me, my nephew is really smart, i remembered last year he asked me this question " Mak Teh (aunty), what is Molecule?" how he can think about molecule?where he found out the word molecule? curios..
as an adult we have to answer the question even we don't know exactly the answer, but we must answer it. then i told him "Muntasier, molecule is the thing that we can't see it but we can feel it, like the wind. the simple example is the water, when the rainy day we can see the water drop in small size like a bubble, in that small size of water there are smaller molecule inside it" that my best answer at that time, then he replied back to me "hmmm..the molecule of water, that is the thing that Jimmy Neutron was talked about" hahahahahaha, then i laugh when i heard it. so he found the word molecule while watching the cartoon of jimmy neutron..
Back to my previos question, why my nephew resist to go to school tomorrow?
my point of view, he didn't like to study in the classroom, he really didn't like to learn like a parrot. he also didn't like when the teachers asked him to be quiet, or to sit down, or to do the write up exercises. then, the most thing he didn't like when the teachers always say NO, DON'T, U CAN'T..it seems like the teachers wanna their student stay on their chair and be passive. i think, at this level of students, they need to play, they love to play, when they played, their brain is working and try to finish the game. when the children playing, it can make the children more creative and a good problem solver.
so. it's true that the school kills creativity among students? i think YES. the school syllabus can't develop creativity among students, because they learn like a parrot, read what the teacher read, and write what the teacher writes. this is not a good learning style. however, implementation school based assessment hopefully can deny this statement..
happy teaching and learning...
